About event
The first part of a five-part series of lectures by FRANTIŠEK KALIVODA (1913–1971). VISIONS AND RETURNS OF MODERNISM
František Kalivoda was one of the most prominent figures of the Brno intellectual milieu from the 1930s to the early 1970s. He used what we know today as cultural management in his practice even before the war. He was known as an unusually inventive publicist, promoter of new ideas and directions. He organized cultural and social events that contributed to the fame and high credit of Brno as one of the main centers of the European avant-garde.
The lecture is given by Jindřich Chatrný, head of the Architectural History Department of the Brno City Museum, free admission, no reservation required.
