……………
• Date: Mondays, weekly | 10 dates from September 22nd, 2025
• Course time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Location: exploratorium berlin, Studio 2
• Leader: Sue Koppel
• Course language: German
!! Register using the form by September 15th: https://exploratorium-berlin.de/events/lernraum/free-the-mime-theaterkurs_25-2
……………
In the course we will learn the technical principles of the »Mime Corporel«. including body segmentation, the study of triple designs and their combinations, and the study of style figures to identify obesity and the physical rhythm-time relationship.
.
In parallel, we apply these technical aspects through improvisation exercises under specific concepts and explore the causality of movement from body to body to develop a collective muscular sensitivity. We will explore various rhythm-time dimensions - physical, musical and contextual - as well as the creation of abstract illusions within a dramatic atmosphere.
.
Finally, we will explore the relationship between physical and musical improvisation as well as their narrative lines. We are guided by the experiences of colleagues from the free jazz scene, with the aim of bringing both languages together in an improvisation session (either in an internal form or as a public work in progress performance).
.
The aim of this workshop is to establish an organic continuity of this language, which serves as the basis for the inner narrative of the movement during improvisation.
