About event
Fundamentals of Healing Trauma
“The body is always broadcasting what is happening in the present moment. It’s constantly sending us signals letting us know what we need. Through the body, we develop an awareness of how to resource ourselves. We learn how to respect our boundaries, what helps us to feel safe, and what we need to heal.” — Rupda
This workshop provides a foundational understanding of how trauma is held in the body and introduces tools to manage anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. It offers practical ways to move toward a more resourced and relaxed state of being, empowering participants to reconnect with themselves and their natural capacity for healing.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Trauma is defined as an experience of overwhelm. It isn’t limited to significant events like accidents; it also encompasses experiences such as emotional, physical, or mental abuse, separation, loss, and other stress-inducing circumstances.
Symptoms of trauma — stress, anxiety, panic attacks, negative self-beliefs, or addictive coping mechanisms can keep us feeling stuck, disconnected, or lost. Trauma often triggers physical and emotional reactions that create patterns of fight, flight, or shutdown, making it difficult to move forward in life. This workshop focuses on gently unlocking trauma’s grip on the body to release these restrictive patterns. Through guided exercises, tools, and resources, participants will learn to self-regulate and reconnect with their innate resilience and inner strength. This process creates a foundation for feeling safe, capable, and empowered, even when under pressure.

“I was born in the late 60’s, a time of radical thinking and revolutionary approaches to human psychology and group therapy. As a child, I grew up in a conscious community and was fortunate enough to sit with a spiritual teacher until the mid 90’s. Growing up in a conscious community, I had a rare opportunity to partake in a multitude of meditations, workshops and retreats. Much of the teachings were on human psychology, awareness and meditation. This became one of the most illuminating and enriching experiences in my own development growing up, and one that continues to impact my life today… ”
Rupda is a certified Counsellor with S.I.A.F. and a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner from Peter Levine’s SE® Institute of Trauma Healing. She is also an NLP (Neuro- linguistic programming) Practitioner, studying directly under John Grinder. Additionally, she is trained in Non-Violent Communication, Enneagram and Hypnosis Mastery directly under Stephan Gilligan.
