About event
The interwar period brought a number of exceptional residential districts to Prague. The guided walk will take you through the Hanspaulka and Osada Baba – places where the vision of modern living in the spirit of functionalism materialized.
The route starts at the Bořislavka metro station and continues through the Hanspaulka residential area, where the principles of modern architecture have been applied since the 20s. They stop, for example, at the own house of the architect Evžen Linhart or at the buildings from the pen of the architect Ladislav Žák. The tour will end in Osada Baba – an iconic colony that was created in 1932 as an exhibition project of the Union of Czechoslovak Works and which is still a unique example of a complete urban set of functionalist villas.
