About event
The Alisa & Vorona Verlag invites you to the book presentation "Gabriel. Nomads"!
Gabriel is a unique phenomenon in contemporary art. She studied philosophy at the University of Cologne and painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy - and yet she decided to create a radically withdrawn path to create her own artistic world beyond academic dogmas and market -driven trends. For over four decades, Gabriel developed a language of uncompromising sincerity, the inner silence and the concentrated search. This is more than just a metaphor for a movable, unstable and baseless present. It is an existential category in which nomadism becomes a mode of being - to search for identity beyond time, gender, age or cultural belonging: for Gabriel, the
artistic process itself is nomadism: a permanent movement of individual consciousness towards reconciliation with the world and with itself.
Gabriel's works are visual meditations in which the limit is between picture and sensation, seems to blur between body and mind. ‘Nomads’ is Gabriel's personal narrative of a path without a goal, but full of meaning in every single step.
We look forward to your visit!
