During the opening of the exhibition, Katarín Zagorski's dance performance: News from the island - as part of the PNS project on the Riviera. under the pseudonym Instant poetry. The project will also be a partial output and a precursor to her dissertation, in which she connects artistic research with exhibition practice.
The exhibition will focus on text as a material that moves between image, gesture and situation. Here, language will not only be a carrier of meaning, but rather a living instrument that changes, breaks down and reassembles depending on the context and the viewer. The author has been working for a long time with the principles of experimental and conceptual poetry, which she transfers from the digital environment to the physical space. The hyper-multimedia character of the exhibition will extend these principles with layers of sound, moving image, performativity and spatial installation.
The works will oscillate between legibility and abstraction, between personal reference and public gesture. The text appears in them as an image, an object, and an intervention in space, sometimes only in hints and intentions. The exhibition will thus open a space for slowing down and more sensitively perceiving the language that normally surrounds us, but which we often overlook.
Instant poetry here will not be a closed format, but a process that arises in contact with the place, situation and audience. The viewer will thus become a natural part of this event, not just an observer.
The project will take place in cooperation with Kontakt na Riviére.
