Ganavya en Barcelona

To know Ganavya's biography is to begin to know his music because both are communicating vessels. He was born in New York, but grew up in India in a Tamil family and later returned to the United States. A mixed vital context that is carefully entangled like a braid in his songs, where several definitions of folklore fit at the same time. As if the Ganges River ran between the Appalachians in a parallel reality.

After releasing two albums in 2024, like the sky I've been too quiet and Daughter of a Temple, he now publishes Nilam, a work of jazz-folk craftsmanship that comes to us wrapped with the same care with which a family jewel should be kept. It's no coincidence: Ganavya learned music from her grandmothers and mother, and now she shares that legacy with the world. Next fall he will present Nilam, an album co-produced by Nils Frahm, in Barcelona and Madrid: on October 13 he will perform at La Nau and on October 14 at El Sol.
