The Second World War began with the attack of the Third Reich on Poland on September 1, 1939. To memory of this event, we invite you to a memorial event at the "Memorial for Poland 1939 to 1945" at the Heinrich-von-Gager-Straße in Berlin on Monday, September 1, 2025. Already on Sunday, August 31, we invite you to a city tour through the Polish Berlin.

After an introductory lecture by the director of the Pilecki Institute, Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Ruchniewicz, holds PD Dr. John Zimmermann entitled "Without the victory of the Wehrmacht no Auschwitz - the German attack on Poland was the prelude to the war of extermination." John Zimmermann, Prof. Dr. Martin Aust and Prof. Dr. Jerzy Kochanowski. Finally, we invite you to a get-together.

📍 Meeting point: S+U-Bahnhof Friedrichstrasse, At the memorial "Trains in Life - Trains in Death"
on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. there will be a city tour with the writer and publicist Dorota Danielewicz. The stations lead to places in Berlin, the Polish traces of the Second World War illustrate and include the stories of Polish revolutionaries, aristocrats, diplomats and poets, journalists, writers and forced laborers.
