About event
There are municipalities across Germany that enable vulnerable people to be admitted or want to make it easier for them to arrive. We bring them together with those who have already found creative ways to do this.
To kick things off, the Moving Cities initiative presents practical successes. In three workshops there will then be the opportunity to learn from each other, approach new concepts and expand networks.
The online conference is aimed at municipal representatives from all over Germany from the administration and the integration area, as well as specialist staff from welfare associations and migrant self-organizations who deal with the reception and integration of refugees. The conference is intended to provide a platform where experienced municipalities who have already developed projects, initiatives or guidelines for better reception or integration through creative means can exchange ideas with others who are still looking for possible solutions.
In the four workshops “Creating living spaces”, “Participation and political participation of MSOs”, “Advocacy: Bottum Up” and “Transparent admission procedures”, participants can discuss experiences and best practice examples as well as develop ideas. Municipalities from all over Germany can inspire and network with each other. There are also small inputs on the topic at the beginning of each workshop.
This online conference takes place in cooperation with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and as part of its Arrive Safely project, funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation.
