The war in Ukraine has been going on for 4 years. We can hardly imagine the level of pain and suffering that the Russian invasion brought. Thanks to the daily struggle of specific Ukrainians, today we have peace in our country. Ukraine created a dam and thanks to it we can live our daily lives in Europe today.
Glory to Ukraine! Herojam glory!

The Generation of Faith exhibition is the result of a collaboration between students of the Curatorial Studies course at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica and the Curatorial Studies Institute. The exhibition was inspired by the project One hour from here - Ukrainian diaspora at UMPRUM in Prague, curated by Darje Lukyanenko. Its mission is to create a sustainable platform for the presentation and networking of the youngest Ukrainian authors (students and recent graduates) of European art schools with local art scenes.
The exhibition premiered in 3 Bratislava galleries - SPACE contemporary art gallery, PNS na Riviera and PNS na Železná studnička. In Banská Bystrica, we also present it in 3 galleries - Gallery Rozkvet - Kotolňa, Gallery A7 and Gallery FX, Faculty of Fine Arts, Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. Curatorial text:
The name of the exhibition "Generation of Faith" refers to a new generation of students who, despite the ongoing war, did not forget their country. The word "faith" here symbolizes not only personal resilience and invulnerability, but also hope and continued devotion to the nation.
The Generation of Faith exhibition presents the work of budding Ukrainian authors, recent graduates of art universities in Europe, whose coming of age fell during the time of war, forced emigration and radical changes in life. This generation is growing up in times of uncertainty, where the daily plans of young people are intertwined with news of war and the collective experience of trauma. With this project, we want to help authors in these difficult times and remind them that the war in Ukraine is still going on.
The presented works are a direct response to political tension. Through visual symbols, it expresses the need for support and calls for engagement. The main genre in the work is the anniversary of the start of the war. The project tries to create a space for students from Ukraine and supports the connection and solidarity between students from different schools, cities and countries, while drawing public attention to the war, which will have lasted for four years at the time of the exhibition.
Various media will be represented at the exhibition, including painting, photography, installation and video, through which the authors bring personal, documentary and artistic perspectives on contemporary reality. The presented works do not create a unified story, but offer diverse perspectives and approaches. Some turn to memories and loss, others try to find themselves in emigration, and some openly criticize power with their work.
Among the works is also represented the work of a Slovak visiting author, dedicated to a Ukrainian friend who was forced to move to Slovakia. As a view of the war from the prism of Europe.
