Georg Katzer – Hommage zu seinem 90

What connects Georg Katzer, Vladimir Jurowski and Unitedberlin? It started in early 1994, with the first concert of our ensemble with Vladimir Jurowski. The program also included Katzer's scene for chamber ensemble, which can be seen again in this homage. In addition, Helmut Zapf, Lutz Glandien and Ralf Hoyer, as a former master student of Katzers at the Academy of the Arts, honor their mentor with premieres. They will be brought into the action by day or cultural politics as well as they covered Georg Katzer 50 years ago- at that time still subversive, under the coat of Goethe quotes on his musical environment.

To this problem of the forced to be ambiguous afterwards you can understand Katzer's vision eutopia, which he can "hymn for an unknown country" names.
The poetry of the Büchner award winner Wolfgang Hilbig has been one of Georg Katzer's important reference points since the early 1980s. La Fabbrica Ombandonata III is based on one of Hilbigs' texts, here language and music meet.
