This isEpisdode I. The episodes are connected, but each can only be seen individually.Episode II had its world premiere on April 17, 2025. It discusses the influence of politics on the legal system and how to deal with the law in cases of suspected terrorism.
With “geRecht” we present a sensory-analog immersive film installation in the theater. Against the backdrop of the currently unleashed migration debate, this work delves deeply into the highly complex and (still) independent world of the courts, where the effects of new asylum laws are immediately noticeable. Floor-to-ceiling, overlapping video projections, real stage elements and a multi-channel sound system create an immersive, intimate and intensive stage experience.

In the asylum court, the truth is valid, they say, but the truth is only what can be proven. In Episode I a famous judge (Corinna Harfouch), shortly before retirement, has to consider different versions of the truth and the wide scope of her law explore. In the search for her son, she is dependent on the people who come from where he presumably disappeared - Afghanistan. These events also open up a view of her younger self in the GDR, when she was in a similar situation at the mercy of the judgment of others in a different legal situation before she fled herself.
The visit is barrier-free for people with limited motor skills. Assistance for disabled people can be guaranteed.
