About event
Discussion series "Challenge of the Future - Disinformation and Deepfakes - New digital reality between challenge and adaptation with Louise Javers
Artificially generated content is changing the information landscape at a rapid pace: images, videos and texts that are completely generated by AI systems are circulating in the millions on social networks - often hardly distinguishable from real content. In connection with targeted manipulation and influence in hybrid disputes, these developments not only represent Security authorities, but also the media, research, companies and society as a whole are faced with new questions: How can trust in information be maintained when visual evidence can be manipulated? What technologies and methods do we need to reliably check the authenticity and origin of digital content? And how are research, communication and public opinion changing in a world in which reality and fiction are increasingly blurred? To ensure credibility in the information space of the future.
Louise Javers is a manager at both PD with a focus on public security, new technologies and open source intelligence (OSINT). At the same time, he is conducting research as a doctoral student at the Computer Science Research Center at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) on security in digital democracy, in particular disinformation, polarization and online platforms. He previously studied public administration and data science at Columbia University in New York and at the Hertie School of Berlin.
