When you listen to Girl Scout for the first time, you immediately feel this strange vibration between lightness and heaviness. Their songs sound as if they exist in a space between times - between college nostalgia and doomsday mood, between the dance floor and therapy. The Stockholm trio has built an entire album out of this limbo: “Brink”, which will be released in March 2026, is their long overdue debut - and at the same time a statement about what it feels like to be young in a world that is constantly threatening to tip over.

It all started quite unspectacularly. Emma Jansson and Viktor Spasov studied jazz at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, played cover songs for a few crowns in bars, soon brought in their friend Per Lindberg on drums - and wrote their first own songs. Before the band had even released a piece, they were performing at festival stages in Scandinavia and accompanying Holly Humberstone on tour. What followed were two acclaimed EPs and a wave of euphoria that made Girl Scout known far beyond the Swedish scene. “Brink” is now more than just a collection of indie rock songs. It is a record of life in between - between departure and exhaustion, doubt and longing.

The pieces are not about life on the edge of a catastrophe, but about the feeling of being stuck: feeling that change is necessary, but not knowing where it will lead. Jansson's voice carries this contradiction - sometimes shimmering, sometimes brittle, but always sincere. And yet: If you really want to understand Girl Scout, you have to see her live. Their concerts are not perfectly polished shows, but rather small eruptions. You see three musicians throwing themselves into their songs as if they wanted to reinvent them at the same moment. The melancholic “Weirdo” becomes a collective sigh of relief, the anthemic “I Just Needed You To Know” an invitation to forget everything uncertain for a moment.

Perhaps this is the secret of their success: Girl Scouts remind us that music is not a retreat, but a place to endure the world. In spring 2026, the band will come to Germany for three concerts - whoever is there will not only see a show, but also feel a piece of the present that feels particularly alive on the edge.
