About event
GKN: FROM DISMISSAL TO SELF-GOVERNMENT?
In 2021, the workers at the Italian factory of the GKN concern suddenly learned that their plant for the production of components for the automotive industry is closing. They decided to defend themselves, occupied the factory and since then have been looking for a way to start organic production in it for the needs of their region. Despite the unfulfilled promises of the state and local authorities, they are not giving up and at the end of last year they launched a campaign, the aim of which is to obtain funds for the launch of a new production plan under the control of the cooperative.
We will learn more about the development of the entire match, its wider social context and the current campaign at the event first-hand. The event will include a screening of a short documentary film with Slovak subtitles.
🗓 Tuesday 14 April from 19:00
📍 Community space - kpbunt, Jungmannova 16, Petržalka
The entrance fee is a voluntary contribution, which we dedicate to the crowdfunding campaign of ex-GKN workers.
More information about the campaign in the comments.
