Good Times Only
Prague band Good Times Only (GTO) is preparing its third full-length album, Nobody has ever done this to me before, on May 1st. In contrast to the previous albums Pěkný veče (2020) and Now I'm Thinking (2023), GTO now embarked on the path of creative and studio freedom without the help of a producer. While they collaborated with Jakub Kaifosz (Lazer Viking, Wild Tides) on the first two recordings, during the creation of new compositions they only occasionally use the producer consultations of Nikola Šolaj (Kvietah, Atomy Nevadí), who otherwise figures here as a mixing engineer.
Songwriting is a bit more straightforward with GTO's new compositions, all five members work on them in their own home rehearsal studio, with occasional visits to their friendly studio Space Tape. The pilot single called GTFO, which will be released at the end of October, was also created in collaboration with producer fiedlerski (Mirai, Ben Cristovao, Marcell). The change in the sound of the five-member band is, for example, a newly discovered vigor, increased distorted guitars, rock influences and abrasiveness. It is not by chance that the Deftones band appeared among the references in the working versions of the recordings.
In addition to piercing guitars, you can hear rich synth surfaces, but also dirty breakbeats or fickle piano - all this contributes to the sonic density, within which, however, GTO do not lose intelligibility and through their Czech lyrics they are able to express themselves more clearly than ever before. For them, typical love songs and reflections of disintegrating relationships alternate here with confessions about inner insecurities, patterns of toxic behavior, but also fear of the future or experiences with therapy. For the first time in their discography, GTO also promises featurings with other musicians.

For Jonáš Verner, music is a way to approach complex things directly. Neither the lyrics nor the musical accompaniment is complex, and it doesn't claim to be. It smells of the smoke of guitar campfires and the current alternative scene, and is inspired by singer-songwriters of the 20th century, led by Jonathan Richman or Vashti Bunyan.
JONÁŠ is, in contrast to the energetic guitar piece Branko's Bridge, in which he works, a purely personal project - he dedicated the pilot single "Sobota Bílá" in the spring of 2025 to his late father, dreams and reconciliation with loss. The sunny summer ballad "Cestování" covers departures away and returns to the unknown.
JONÁŠ'S first EP SAMOMLUVA was released on October 14, 2025, the baptism took place on October 16 at the Warsaw club.
