Goose is an American rock band known for their genre-bending sound, improvised live performances, and loyal fan base. The band consists of Rick Mitarotonda (vocals, guitar), Peter Anspach (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Trevor Weekz (bass) and Cotter Ellis (vocals, drums). Her music – a deft marriage of indie-rock hooks, sprawling improvisations and driving rhythms – has taken her from performances in Connecticut basements to headlining appearances on some of the country's most prestigious stages. Known for their strong DIY ethic, Goose has grown organically through relentless touring and using platforms like YouTube, Bandcamp and nugs.net to share live performances and connect with fans.

Goose will release their fifth studio album, Chain Yer Dragon, on August 14th. It arrives just four months after Everything Must Go, their first release since 2022's critically acclaimed Dripfield, which earned them No. 2 on Billboard's Top New Artist Albums chart and was praised by Rolling Stone as a "sweet treat for the headphones and the foundation for a perfect live climax."

Unlike its predecessor, "Everything Must Go" draws on the feel of Goose's live performances and features songs written in the final years of their growth, including reimagined live classics and songs that capture their evolving, dynamic sound. The album's first single, "Give It Time", reached No. 6 on the AAA radio charts. Goose is the only band to have two songs ("Give It Time" and "Your Direction") on these charts at the same time.

Now, "Chain Yer Dragon" welcomes listeners into a rich, accomplished world of music and familiar characters, inviting them to follow the lights and sounds through dingy bars and long nights on the streets, disappearing into the clarity of a fresh dawn. Showcasing Goose's versatility, the album presents '70s-style rock songs that feel familiar and are brought to life through improvisation. The album plays with form and is anchored by a natural production style that recaptures the raw, revealing feel of the band's electrifying live shows.

Everything Must Go was met with widespread media attention upon its release in the spring, including extensive articles in the New York Times, Vulture and other publications, as well as a memorable appearance and interview with Anthony Mason on the CBS Saturday Morning Show. Hailed by SPIN as "a wide-ranging display of creative talent that has attracted such high-profile contributors and a growing legion of fans... 90 minutes of music that combines organic grooves with an increasing ability for melodic hooks," "Everything Must Go" was praised by a variety of publications, including Uproxx, which praised it as "the band's weightiest and most satisfying studio album to date," Guitar Player, which described it as "melodic yet adventurous, full-bodied "fair grooves, elaborate electric guitar solos and other musical shenanigans," and PopMatters, which simply called it "outstanding...one of the best studio albums by a jam band to date." The album is both a statement of intent from Goose and an arrival of sorts - a journey for fans and newcomers through the group's past, present and infinite future.

Since their beginnings when they recorded "Moon Cabin" in a barn in northern New Hampshire in 2016, Goose has evolved their unique approach to songwriting and improvisation, finding a rare balance between carefully composed songs, precise musicianship and emotional honesty. Goose has sold out many venues across the United States, including Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheater and Forest Hills Stadium, and appeared on shows such as "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and “CBS Saturday Morning.” The band has also played at numerous legendary music festivals including the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, ACL and many others. Through their commitment to progress, Goose continually reminds us that music is not just played - it is felt, lived and shared.
