About event
Gaetano Donizetti: The bell 2.0
Vígopera in an act in Hungarian
What should we do when the bell rings in a love night hour? Then it sounds again and once again and once again? Gaetano Donizetti brings us this embarrassing situation with his characteristic feat and shows how to keep the unwanted husband away from his beloved bed with some strange and disguise. The Donizetti Virgin Opera, The Bell, was born in a particularly difficult period of the Teatro Nuovo Theater in Naples. It was introduced in 1836, when the composer-and in this case, also a lyricist-wanted to help the director and artists of the theater in the difficulties of cholera and financial problems. This was done, and his new work was incredibly popular in Europe in no time. Over the years, changes have been made in the piece, such as originally prose dialogues, and the extremely comical but less understandable Naples dialect, which was spoken by the Buffo character, was "translated" into Italian with the permission of the composer. The production of the rolling Opera tour was made according to Attila Toronykőy, the director of the Opera.
