About event
Gracie Abrams, one of the great promises of the music industry, makes her debut in Portugal on February 11, 2025, in an unmissable concert at MEO Arena.
This show takes place as part of the launch of her second album , The Secrets of Us, and its presentation tour. This work by the North American singer captures the intense emotions of being 24 years old, with all the ups and downs of love and relationships. Released last month and co-produced by The National's Aaron Dessner, The Secrets of Us infuses his songwriting with a new vivacity, encouraging listeners to embrace their chaotic feelings.
Created after the Touring with Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, the album marks Abrams' first active production role. Building on his debut album, Good Riddance, each track features a vibrant energy, aided by punchy guitar parts and rich vocal layers, with contributions from his friend Audrey Hobert.
Recorded primarily at Long Pond Studio, the first song on the album, “Risk”, embodies his adventurous spirit. Living with Hobert, the two often woke up eager to create music together, inspired by real experiences.
The album explores varied soundscapes, from the dreamy synths of “Blowing Smoke” to the dynamic rhythms of “Tough Love.” Fan favorite “Close To You” finally finds its place as a dance-ready anthem after seven years.
Themes of self-denial and loss are present in “Gave You I, Gave You I ” and “I Love You, I'm Sorry,” which features a string section from Grammy-winning composer Rob Moose. Opening for Taylor Swift significantly influenced Abrams, inspiring her to write powerful, resonant lyrics.
Reflecting on the album's creation, Abrams likens the process to the excitement of romantic passion. She credits Dessner with helping her trust her instincts, allowing her to work in a fluid and enjoyable way—a method she hopes to continue for the rest of her career.
It's on February 11 2025 that Gracie Abrams gives herself to her Portuguese fans, with a concert scheduled at the MEO Arena.
