Where to draw strength to survive unbearable life circumstances - persecution, inhumanity, loss of loved ones and the right to life itself? The children's fairy tale Boris Sandler about Hebrew letters and Yiddish is also involved in the narrative of the horrific reality of the camp. The heroine, separated from her child, constantly tells her in her mind - teaching to read and write, even if he is far from him. In this fairy tale, cute residents of magic jungles sing songs about the good family Alef Bajs, a magical train, about love, friendship and joy. The fairy tale about the magical letters and the wisdom that is hidden in them embodies the idea of the freedom of the human spirit in its highest form. One can take home, property, friends, freedom, even a name - but he cannot take the ability to think freely, dream and desire love. The prisoners and the supervisors of the concentration “jungle” turn into fairy -tale jungle creatures where everyone behaves humanly. The prisoners who have left the camp only numbers are regained letters, names and dreams - and in the fairy tale these dreams come true. Yevgeny Kissin, a guest soloist of the Czech Philharmonic in the season 2025/2026. The songs will be played in Yiddish and are freely translated within the storyline. libretto: boris sandler
