12. 2nd, 18:00
We cordially invite you to the baptism of the book monograph Florin Grandhr (1942–2019), which will be complemented by a lecture on the work of the artist and its Swiss and Czech context. >
The book is the first systematic monograph of this remarkable Swiss artist, who, despite his primarily, maintained interesting contacts with the Czech environment. This was mainly due to his wife, the prominent art theorist Ludmila Vachtová. 20th century. Its most visible part is a number of impressive monumental geometric realizations located in the public areas of Swiss cities. With his systematic approach and self -discipline, he gradually led her to a very distinctive position, culminating in the definition of his own creative theorem.
The book through three thematic chapters and pictorial accompaniment presents the artist as a distinctive representative of the constructive approaches of his generation, but also as a very strong and unique personality.
The publication is trying to bring the artist's work closer to the Czech audience because a substantial part of the artist's work consisting of a large number of buildings and drawings is currently in the Czech Republic.
The author of the concept and text part of the book is the theorist and curator of contemporary art Viktor Čech. Possibility to watch and document the creation of Florin Gradehra over the long years of their mutual contacts.
The book is published in English.
