Planetary Health is an important component of social sustainability and is becoming increasingly important for the social economy and social work. The focus is on how climate change and ecological crises are changing social determinants of health and what health and social consequences occur in different population groups.
Sinje Gehr shows in her keynote how planetary health and climate justice are understood as a new field of responsibility for social work and how corresponding skills can be integrated into training. The subsequent panel discussion with Elisabeth Steiner and Johannes Schett delves deeper into how social sustainability, health and climate justice can be thought of together. Practical examples, such as heat protection concepts or the urban summer packages, show how this is already being successfully implemented.
This Green Lecture is aimed at people active in the social economy, social workers, teachers and those interested in the interface between social work and healthcare.
