Greenland in winter - the coldest island from the photographer's point of view. After repeated photographic trips to Iceland and Svalbard, in 2024 he went to Greenland, specifically to its west coast. The traveler Vilém Veverka himself says about this: "I consider Greenland, which I deliberately visited in winter, to be one of the most authentic landscapes that can be experienced today. It is hard to imagine that a person would go to such a place without a camera. My approximately ten days were more of an intensive first experience than an exhausting journey. I therefore understand the lecture as an introduction for those who are thinking about a trip to Greenland, as well as for those who are interested in this landscape and culture in general. Greenland is a specific and remote destination that stands out not only in terms of its size and climate, but also in the conditions for photography. Experiencing Greenland once is not enough. However, thanks to photography, I come back to it again. The photos are proof that nothing of this "slightly different planet" seemed to me." Vilém Veverka is not only a traveler and photographer, but above all a top Czech oboist, known from concert stages.
