About event
Georgia is an increasingly popular destination for Slovak tourists. In recent years, it has opened up to the West, but after last year's October elections, everything seems to be different. The Georgian organization Institute for Development of Freedom of Information, which is a partner organization of Post Bellum, filmed dozens of interviews in Georgia with monuments and monuments whose fate was marked by Stalinist repressions. Based on them, a short documentary film Liberated or occupied? Freedom or tyranny?, which asks why the Soviet past, and above all the person of J.V. Stalin, evokes such positive responses from many Georgians to this day. Is it related to current developments? Is Georgia ceasing to be a democracy?
We invite you to the screening of the documentary film Liberated or occupied? Freedom or tyranny? connected with a discussion with the head of SME's foreign department Lukáš Onderčanin and an expert on the civil sector who worked in Georgia for a long time, Boris Strečanský. The discussion will be led by the director of communication and relations of Post Belllum SK, Juraj Rizman.
Project implemented thanks to the support of the International Visegrad Fund and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
