About event
We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition Crying at the 0rgy 🍌
led by the exhibition curators David Laufer, Tomáš Samek, and Zai Xu 💪
“The exhibition ‘Crying at the orgy’ looks at these ‘definitions’ and approaches to masculinities through the prism of artistic creation. It explores emotional coming of age, sexuality and vulnerability in relation to the concept of masculinity that is not only culturally constructed and socially deeply embedded, but also internalized by how differently each of us relates to it and in turn evaluates or modifies our behavior. We want to open a space for understanding, critique, and empathy towards masculine experiences and issues whose causes often remain outside the mainstream feminist and gender discourse. This is not, however, to reserve ourselves from feminism, but rather to extend its critical tools to the field of masculinities research.”
