Gumbo Kings in Paradiso

In recent years, Gumbo Kings has grown into a leading live act, which has conquered many festival audiences with their unique mix of soul and rhythm and blues, from Noorderslag and Bevrijdingspop to Moulin Blues and Ribs 'n Blues. The band members made their mark with artists such as Akwasi, Rilan & the Bombardiers, Sugarboy & the Sinners, Caro Emerald and Marlon Pichel. With their debut album 'Hotel Belvédère' they take a daring new path. Gumbo Kings takes you to an imaginary Miami from the 80s, where their roots music gets a fresh twist with synths and hip-hop beats. Sometimes it sounds like The Black Keys or Arctic Monkeys, other times like Black Pumas or Nathaniel Rateliff. With songs about addiction, bad fathers and sad macho behavior, Gumbo Kings goes into depth.
