Songmates and guests looking for clues
Gerhard Gundermann would have been 71 years old on February 21st, 2026. On this occasion, friends, colleagues, companions and companions of his come together in the Theater Ost (Berlin Adlershof) to celebrate this birthday, in the hope that he would have celebrated it in a similar way. They open his treasure chests and go looking for clues together. A journey into the past, but also into the present and future.
Included are:
Brigade Feuerstein (1978 – 1988)
“Not so long ago, there were a few funny fellows living in the country of KLINGKLANG in the town of WEISSNICHTWO”. The first pieces of the BRIGADE FEUERSTEIN, which Gerhard Gundermann invented for the small and large children of the town of Hoyerswerda, called Hoywoy, began in a similar way. Inspired by the agit prop of the twenties and the attractions of fairground and circus, “Feuerstein's SPECTAKULUM” was created - an almost four-hour evening with song, theater, show and dance. The former members of the Feuerstein Brigade Elke Förster, Rainer Westphal and Conny Gundermann will show a very small excerpt from the program “A Sea Trip” this evening and will be musically supported by the song companions with the Feuerstein bassist Udo Seidel.
Linda and the extended long line
Gundermann's songs resonate. Not just in his generation, but also in the children who grew up with this music and are now passing the songs on to the next generation. Linda Gundermann is one of these children who brought Gundermann's songs to friends and also some songwriters. She has been traveling around the country with the project “Linda and the Loud Brides” for 7 years, in which Gundermann's songs are played together with the 6 brides' own works. Since 2023, Linda has been singing her own songs in a new project, the songwriter trio “Linda and the Long Line”. This evening, parts of both groups gather as an “extended leadership”. Also there: Sonja Blume, Judith Retzlik, Melvin Haack, Lari from “Lari and the Pausenmusik” and Linda Gundermann
Songmates
Gerhard Gundermann would have been 60 years old on February 21, 2015. For this occasion, an emotionally happy, powerful and touching literary-musical program was created with thoughts, intertexts and some of his most beautiful songs with “borrowed music”, e.g. from Bruce Sprinsteen, Tom Waits, Steeleye Span and the Beatles. It tells a lot about the person and artist Gerhard Gundermann and therefore also about those who walked part of his journey with him. Gerhard Gundermann left us songs and texts that he hoped would become food through which we could recharge our batteries. But he couldn't have known how important they are to us, especially today. The world has become even more unsafe due to poverty and wars - and we have to live and behave in it. This is one of the reasons why we have decided - despite loss, sadness and speechlessness - to rebuild our program with new members. Because this program has the desire and also the power to resonate for as long as it is needed.
Searching for clues are: Carmen Orlet, Tina Powileit, Maria Haupert, Linda Gundermann, Conny Gundermann, Udo Seidel, Andreas Bunckenburg, Melvin Haack and Thomas Otto
