About event
Gregor Gysi meets people who have something to say and have experienced something: prominent contemporary witnesses of public life from the media, culture, politics, shows, music, sport and society.
Hardly any German statesman has been so reviled, hardly anyone has fought his way through the undergrowth of hostility so successfully - to become a recognized celebrity and one of the most important protagonists of left-wing thought in Germany.
Gregor Gysi, born in 1948 Berlin, is a lawyer, author, podcaster, presenter and politician. From 1990-2002 and from 2005-2015 he was parliamentary group leader of the PDS, or “The Left” party, in the Bundestag. There he was foreign policy spokesman for the Left Party from 2020-2023. Gregor Gysi is also successful as an author, including his bestselling autobiography “One Life is Too Little”.
In future, in entertaining conversations with depth and lots of humor, Gregor Gysi will present one guest at a time at the Renaissance Theater - talk to them about life and experiences.
On January 11, 2026 at 11:30 a.m., Gregor Gysi is looking forward to meeting the actress, musician and author Erika Pluhar.
