About event
Visit to 3 cathedrals in Haarlem
The Holy quadruple (H4H) is the Ecumenic partnership of the English Reformed Church, the old Lutheran Church, the Catholic Krijtberg and the Baptist Singelkerk: 4 churches around the Spui.
. This time the organization is in the hands of De Krijtberg.
On Thursday, September 11, we will make an inspiring tour along three cathedrals in Haarlem. The distances are such that you can walk. (For people who are less mobile, transport is arranged - instead of walking - for the distance between the Grote Markt and the Cathedral Basilica Sint Bavo.)
You travel to Haarlem Central Station on your own. The first church is close by: we gather in the St. Josephkerk, Jansstraat 43, where we are received by honorary-kanunnik Guus Hendriks. Then we walk to the Grote or St. Bavokerk on the Grote Markt, where we are shown around. Then we walk to the Cathedral Basilica Sint Bavo, where a lunch is ready for us. Then a tour, including the Treasury Crypt, and a greeting by the bishop of Haarlem-Amsterdam Mgr. Jan Hendriks. After a short prayer celebration we close the day with a drink.
You will go home on your own.
Distances:
- From Haarlem Central Station to St. Josephkerk, Jansstraat = 7 minutes; 500 meters.
- From the St. Josephkerk to the Grote or St. Bavokerk, Grote Markt = 4 minutes; 300 meters.
- From the Grote or St. Bavo church to Cathedral Basilica Sint Bavo, Leidsevaart 146 = 15 minutes; 1.4 kilometers.
Price: 32.50 euros This price includes:
- Transport in Haarlem for those who are less mobile (Grote Markt to the Cathedrale Basilica)
- Coffee/tea, tours, lunch and drink.
- This price does not include transport to and from Haarlem.
