Comedians

Tim Hill

Tim Hill is a recovering cynic. A backpacker who settled down to become a dad. A sweet guy with a sting in his tail. But above all, a smartass who loves referring to himself in the third person (he really does). Tim does not approve of people calling him a hipster - meaning he probably is one - and sees the world as a meaningless yet endlessly fascinating place. Tim is cheap, clean, and sustainable and is therefore considered by many to be a viable alternative to fossil fuels. Tim is co-founder of The Comedy Embassy, as well as writer and co-creator of sketch channel Infinite Monkey Theory, which has amassed literally tens of followers.

Karan Karthik

Karan Karthik, living in Enschede, Netherlands (yes that is a real place). Started doing stand up comedy 2 years ago and has been slowly making his moves on the European comedy scene. He successfully launched his first Solo hour "MAD PSYCHOLOGIST" to a SOLD out crowd in Amsterdam in February 2023 followed by many sold out shows for his solos in India and Netherlands. This polyamorous psychologist has something to say about everything from racism to mental health to sexual fantasies, to literally anything he can shrink down into his limited judgemental mind. He still is not sure if he is funny or just finds things funny, so he is hoping that you will join him in at least laughing at him if not with him.

Winnie Hänschen

Winnie is a stand-up comedian from the Netherlands. She's worked in theatre for over a decade as a playwright and performer and has a solo under her belt. She performs and writes in Dutch and English, used the many lockdowns to write a book and has a comedy podcast in the making, but very happy to get back out on stage now we can!

Archana

Archana is a standup comedian of Indian origin living in The Netherlands. She has performed in India, Netherlands and Estonia (that’s right, she will go to any length for comedy).

Her desire to punch up the patriarchy, shitcan body shaming and her need for validation from strangers is what got her into comedy. She is mildly famous for voicing the unpopular opinion on motherhood and parenting in general (both her therapists have proofread this bio). Her style of humor is often described as edgy, dark and bold.

Swar Joshi

Swar is a Utrecht-based comedian who could've been Amsterdam-based if he could afford it. Swar exaggerates life's minor irritations and trivializes existential crises. His comedy can be defined as "sad comedy for sad people - performed by a happy, hyperactive human”. If you think you've done something stupid, Swar has probably already topped that.

Elise Reilingh

Elise is a new comedian from Haarlem with a background in music and theatre. She loves to write songs and stories about everyday absurdities and is excited to be sharing some of these with you soon! Elise is in her final year at the Paul van Vliet Academie in Scheveningen, where she is studying comedy and kleinkunst.

People call me different, I think that makes me, me. I’m a local boutique hostel. Somewhere in between a laid-back hostel and a 5-star hotel. My bar is open. Local beers on draft, cocktails and barista coffee with homemade baked goods to-go. You are welcome in our cozy theatre. Make yourself feel at home.
