The album "Lichtung" was conceived by Hacke and de Picciotto as a tribute to their new home on the outskirts of Berlin, which the pair found after almost fourteen years of nomadic life, and perhaps Danielle returned to it in some passages to her piano in love, which she didn't have with her "constantly on the road".
hackedepicciotto here otherwise discovered other sound possibilities at the interface of drone collages and electronic rhythms, Hacke's still pulsating bass guitar with his unmistakable playing signature is also indispensable. (ร propos, Alexander Hacke is now also gaining recognition as the author of the biography "Krach", with which he from time to time goes out for requested author's readings.) The German lyrics on the album then consciously pay tribute to Berlin's still inspiring environment, which Hacke, as a key member of the legendary Einstรผrzende Neubauten, helped shape with uncompromising innovation, and now, on the contrary, draws from it as a newly settled ex-traveler. At the same time, Alexander and Danielle are attentive observers of the world around them - in the work of hackedepicciotto, they reflect its loving shades, but also its dark corners. We are happy to welcome them again after three years.
