Hamlet | Theater Rotterdam - Erik Whien

After much -acclaimed performances such as Revolutionary Road and Sadness, the thing with feathers is hitting director Erik Whien and actor Jacob Derwig is once again joining forces for an unforgettable piece about mourning, loss and resilience. We see how the young Hamlet mourns around his deceased father, while there seems to be no room for it in his immediate area. This way his mother quickly remarries, with her husband's brother. The denying Hamlet's sorrow touches him in his deepest being. He promises one thing - whatever the consequences - he will not forget his father. The Shakespeare classic Hamlet has been edited into an impressive family drama, played by top actors Hannah Hoekstra, Jacob Derwig and Roman Derwig. The last two are also father and son in real life, which gives this adaptation a special extra dimension!
