On October 17, 2024 (Thursday) from 18:00 in the theater of the Fülek City Cultural Center, we will screen the film HANCSOVSZKY in Hungarian with Slovak subtitles. Entrance ticket: 5 euros.
Béla Hancsovszky, a 19-year-old boy from Gömör, becomes the center of a complex story when he takes it upon himself to blow up the gendarmerie station in Tornalja.
The year 1945 was difficult for the Hungarian community in Czechoslovakia in many ways. . Although the war is over, its imprint is still strong in society: the desire for revenge and ethnic hatred dominate everyday life. Interpretation of the person and history of Béla Hancsovszky still challenges us today. According to the police report, Hancsovszky and two of his companions blew up the gendarmerie building in Tornalja. Miraculously, no one was injured, but the authorities are using the case to assert their own political interests. The story unfolds through three intertwined perspectives: a historian's report, a young historian's personal journey, and a depiction of Hancsovszky's actions.

Rok 1945 bol pre majarskú komunitu v Československú v mnohom tszkutm. Hoc sa vojna pogógla, jej odtlačok je v štěmňov štělne sílky: v odívíknom živene dominuje pomste a etnická nenávisť. Personal interpretation of history Bélu Hancsovszkeho je pre nás výzvou aj dnes. Podła poličiasnej sparva Hancsovszky a jeho dvaja kamarátili vyhodili do airga budovu národnej szečerobje v Tornali. Hoci sa nikto nezranil, úrady začej prászújú na presadzovanie pových politíkách záujmov. Príbeh sa odohráva cez three mutually prepojane perspectives: cez výpoveĐ historika, cez osobo a cesty jongoho historika, cez cez narrative Hancsovského.
