About event
Exhibition opening and reading.
Klaus-Jürgen Liedtke reads from his novel “Postwar and the Rubble of East Prussia”.
Hanna Sjöberg from Stockholm has lived in Berlin for over 30 years. She studied fine arts (Master of Fine Arts) in Stockholm and Berlin. She works as a set designer and freelance artist primarily with transnational thematic exhibitions: "Tabula rasa. A table for Küstrin" - exhibitions on the lost homeland, "A European Odyssey" - on the life of a woman from Königsberg, "at the Water's Edge" - memories from the Cold War in the Baltic region. In the bookseller's cellar she shows free works on and with paper.
Klaus-Jürgen Liedtke, born in South Tondern as a refugee child, lived in Kiel, Uppsala, Turku and Berlin. He published two volumes of poetry and two novels in “The Other Library” and as editor of “The Baltic Sea. Reports and Stories from 2000 Years”. Critic Dirk Pilz called his book “Postwar and The Rubble of East Prussia”, compiled from fragments, “a montage composed of notes, past memories, ‘remnants of the day’, a ‘string of pearls’ whose connecting threads are the ‘depths of the past’” and which emphasizes the irreconcilable.
