About event
Film cycle: Memories
In the year we commemorate (not only) 80 years since the end of the 2nd World War. Under the all -encompassing name memories we offer a wide program offer in this respect. During the year you will find, for example, an exhibition of Czech victims plötzensee, we cordially invite for prefabricated discussions or a series of film projections. We continuously update and expand the program. 👉Goethe.de/cesko/recall
Film
Hannah arendt
When in 1961 Hannah Arendt enters the court room for a renowned yorkesal about the process with Adolf Eichmann. Instead, however, he meets anyone - the banal average of Eichmann does not fit to the incredible evil of his actions. This opposite of Arendt will employ for a long time. Back in New York, he reads hundreds of pages and discusses with friends. Since 1963 he has published a series of Eichmann articles in Jerusalem. The whole world is shocked by the thesis of the banality of evil and the reactions are devastating: the author is disadvantaged, new enemies appear, and old friends turn away from her. Yet AEndt remains adamant in his attitudes - because he wants to understand, although it often means "think only where it hurts".
