About event
Come to the traditional happening voice for Tibet to support Tibetans and express your disagreement with human rights violations in China and Tibet.
Happening will commemorate the 66th anniversary of the Tibetans uprising against the Chinese occupation of their country.
In 1959, over 80,000 Tibetans died. Hundreds of thousands of others died in prison, labor camps or as a result of famine in the coming years. Gradually, the Tibetans have become a minority in their own country because of the massive relocation of the Chinese. Their basic human rights are still grossly violated. In addition to the Tibetans, other religious and ethnic minorities are facing oppression, especially the Uygus, who are massively closed to re -education camps.
You will have the opportunity to sign a petition for the release of Uygurian professor Ilham Tohti, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the unfair process.
Before the embassy you will also be able to write a wishes for the 90th birthday of his Holiness Dalai Lama.
representatives of non -profit organizations, a group of friends of Tibet in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate and representatives of the Tibetan community will perform at the event. The band Zní and Tomáš Klus will play.
