About event

The ensemble's final concert of the calendar year, with its concept, tries to connect the club environment with the field of contemporary classical music. It thematizes existential themes of the search for identity, unhappiness in love and social relationships. It is named after the emblematic composition of Miloslav Ištvan, which mixes the influences of African-American poetry, blues and postmodern compositional practices. The evening is rounded off by a premiered piece by Vojtěch Dlasek, who re-instrumented a work previously dedicated to the ensemble inspired by Jean Genet's novel.

After a long time, multi-instrumentalist and composer Pavel Zlámal is collaborating with the ensemble, and for the first time ever, an American volunteer working in Brno will perform with the orchestra actor Aaron Collier. The list of soloists is rounded off by the ensemble's regular soloists: baritone Aleš Janiga and soprano Jana Vondrů. The concert is conducted by resident conductor Gabriela Tardonová.

The concert is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the statutory city of Brno, the South Moravian Region, the State Culture Fund and the Copyright Protection Association.
