About event

ִֶָ 𓂃⊹ ִֶָ Singles, baile funk and rap. Apocalyptic baile funk, singles soaked in hip hop, electronic music drawing from rituals and noise rap mixed with West African folk. The Ugandan label Nyege Nyege has been operating in Kampala since 2013 and since then has gained a reputation as one of the most important African music collectives today with a global reach into experimental electronica. Anderson do Paraíso, Jay Mitta, Judgitz and Pö. The event will take place as part of the Heartnoize series.

ִֶָ 𓂃⊹ ִֶָ DJ Anderson do Paraíso drew attention to himself two years ago with the record 𝘘𝘽𝘭𝘭𝘭𝘭𝘭, an album full of slow beats, twisted baile funk and silence, which sometimes says more than the music. He has been gradually finding his way to tracks full of tension and unpleasant anticipation since 2012, when he started producing music inspired by funk from Rio de Janeiro. In the Brazilian city of Belo de Sera, he then started going to local street parties that combined baile funk with hip hop and MCs rapping about violence, crimes, but also hope for better times. On his albums, Anderson do Paraíso transformed the energy of local gatherings into contemporary electronica and a captivating and bleak atmosphere.

ִֶָ 𓂃⊹ ִֶָ Musician and ethnomusicologist Julien Hairon has spent the last decade collecting field recordings across Africa, Asia and Oceania. He then transformed his broad overview into the Judgitzu project, which was also preceded by a two-year stay in Tanzania. On the record 𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯, Judgitzu draws mainly from the local genre of singles, music and dance moving between 200 and 300 bpm. Against the background of contemporary Tanzanian dance music, he tries to find a way to his own Celtic roots and find a connection between the spiritual message and the club floor. Jay Mitta made his debut on Nyege Nyege Tapes in 2019 with 𝘛Ατι𝘻ό 𝘗𝘭𝘭𝘭𝘪, which established the frenetic sound and energy of Tanzanian dance music on a global level. The pioneering producer is preparing a new album for this June.

ִֶָ 𓂃⊹ ִֶָ In his work, Pö moves between rap, noise, industrial beats and West African folk. In live performances whose energy oscillates between Björk and Pussy Riot, Pö is able to create intense physical experiences that transcend the traditional confines of a concert. During the performances, he combines vocals, electronics, rap and dance and creates even a ritual connection with the audience. The immersive aspect of her performance and the intimate closeness with the audience are accompanied by her musical ceremonies, which do not lack a journey to hell or catharsis. city of Prague.
