About event
The gothic post-punk of Heartworms, named after The Shins' album of the same name, draws inspiration not only from The Shins, but also from icons such as The Clash and Siouxsie and The Banshees. Behind this emerging name from the British post-punk scene lies Jojo Orm. With her fascination with military history she creates dark, goth-inspired post-punk full of raw guitar licks. Her debut EP 'A Comforting Notion' was released on the idiosyncratic label Speedy Wunderground, with none other than Dan Carey (known from Wet Leg and Fontaines D.C.) behind the controls. According to 3voor12, Heartworms is 'the coolest band of the moment on enthusiast label Speedy Wunderground'—an evening that you absolutely should not miss as a fan of the new British post-punk wave!
