The basic course of the Hejné teaching method for the 2nd grade of elementary school will be held face-to-face in Košice. This interactive course starts on Friday, February 6 and continues on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
It is intended for teachers who do not yet have any with the Hejné method, or only minimal experience. It is suitable for 2nd grade elementary school mathematics teachers who want to actively familiarize themselves with Hejné's teaching method, with knowledge from the field of schema-oriented teaching (VOBS) and with effective procedures that can be used directly in mathematics classes.

Place: Košice (b&c language school, Južná classeda 2/A, Hotel Centrum)

Registration: until 28.1.2026 (or until capacity is filled)
Fee: €138 per person (price for professional program, does not include lunch)
Course schedule:
- Friday 6.2. from 10:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
- on Saturday 7.2. from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
- introduction to teaching mathematics using the Hejné method, basic principles
- the program will include practical workshops in the geometric environment of the Square Grid and Geodome, the environment of 2D geometry
we will also look at the cross-cutting topics of Fractions and Equations in the environment of Ded Lesoň and other environments
- we will focus on the basic stages of the learning process, the creation of graded tasks, parameter
- we will present textbooks and aids at the second level and there will also be room for discussion
- the course is intended for teachers of the 2nd level of elementary schools who have no or only minimal experience with the Hejné method (however, it is not a condition that the participant be a teacher)
- we will send a detailed program of the course to the registered participants about 2 days before it takes place
Certificate of completion of the course:
- certificates are issued in person as part of the final part of the course
- the condition for obtaining a certificate is active participation in workshops (at least 80% of the course) and involvement in the creation of graded assignments
