About event
With a musical top team, singer and songwriter Heleen van den Hombergh presents her new album Sapiens Unlimited in the new KHL.
Singer and songwriter Heleen van den Hombergh Zingt and tells with a warm powerful voice and own songs of Sapiens. In addition to Heleen on stage are four top musicians from Pop, Jazz and Theater: Erik Rutjes, Jeroen Vierdag, Marcus Olgers and Arthur Lijten.
What has our man makes since time immemorial? She was inspired by the book Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari and by Art Rock and Pop with even a dose of funk from the 1980s. For example, she sings about our fantasy (and ability to believe entire hordes in it), our hunting expeditions all over the world, our intimate but difficult relationships with nature, food and ai. Just to mention something. In it she establishes the relationship between ancient history and her own life in 2025. A roller poster of strong, varied music, interesting stories, food for thoughts.
In Heleen's work, the covenant between humans and nature is central, such as earlier on her album Rush in the Woods (2018). In Sapiens Unlimited, Heleen explores the deepest characteristics of human nature and also its own new musical boundaries. Heleen wrote texts and music, and arranged and produced them together with guitarist Erik Rutjes and Sound Engineer Paul Pouwer.
with: Erik Rutjes - Guitar, Jeroen Vierdag - Bas, Marcus Olgers - Keys, Arthur Lijten - Percussie (…) Devet at the best of the best of the best of the best of the Jonberberh. Intimate and sensitive, but also convincing and powerful. ”(NRC Handelsblad).
