About event
A sci-fi comedy about the hopeful prospects of humanity with music by Vladivojna La Chia.
The fascism of world political leaders, climate disruption or the loss of control over an extremely powerful form of artificial intelligence – these are topics linked to history. While holograms of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin haunt visitors in a twenty-first century museum, the descendants of today's humans live their comfortable lives in polyamorous marriage cells, entertained by hypersensory virtual reality through which they learn about a world that has already disappeared. They turn to a state-regulated form of AI that is their memory, source of interpretation, and oracle of fortune telling. However, the discovery of a demon from the depths of the sea prompts them to question the meaning and legitimacy of their own existence. Can the descendants of humans still be heroes who will realize their story and their transformation? Or is their existence just an embarrassing epilogue of the short tragicomic history of the homo sapiens species on planet Earth?
New by the author of the award-winning game Olga (Horror from Hrádeček) by Anna Saavedra, who this time dived into the future instead of the past. The game is inspired by Professor Timothy Snyder's lecture The New Paganism: How the Postmodern Became the Premodern, where current political and social events are interpreted based on the values typical of the premodern pagan cultures of ancient Europe.
The play was created with the support of the Czech Literary Fund Foundation.
