Almost every week a woman is killed by her (former) partner. Yet we hardly talk about it. How can we break the taboo around femicide?
It is the most predictable form of murder, but there is shockingly little attention and insufficient means to tackle this problem. The Netherlands has long looked at femicide as a "migrant problem". And indeed: if you look at victims of 'honor' vibration, to save the so-called family-honor, many women come from the Turkish-Dutch community. But the problem is bigger. What should happen in the Netherlands to get a grip on this violence against women? On the basis of a theater monologue by Theater Rast we will talk about femicide.
