About event
Come with us to discover the beauties of the majestic Caucasus. With the backpack on the back we will admire the alpine gems of Georgian nature, glaciers and snowy peaks of the mountains, which, according to legend, was punished by Prometeus himself.
We will travel on hiking trails that connect the picturesque mountain villages, where the home team will hospital us with specialties of traditional local cuisine such as Chačapuri or Chinkali. But we will not miss the wine, which has an 8,000-year-old tradition in Georgia, whether a cognac or a homemade brandy, which is called by the locals.
After an exhausting but breathtaking hiking, the winding mountain roads will take us down to the shores of the Black Sea, where we will give our bodies a well -deserved rest.
Georgia is not a large area, but a very diverse country with a rich history and culture, its own alphabet and language. The hospitality of the locals is legendary and we will not want to leave this amazing country. Day - Arrive in Kutaisi. We stay in the hotel in the city center and go for a walk around the city. After walking around the city, we have a good dinner and prepare your backpacks for finally going towards the mountains the next day.
2. Day - move to the "capital of the Caucasus". The journey to the picturesque mountain town of the city is an experience in itself. Accommodation, a possible visit to the museum or cinema, in which they screen only one film that was made in Svanet, and of course tasting local goodies and Čača.
3. Day - The cable car will be taken to the Zuruldi ridge (2300 m.n.m), where our hike begins. We will walk about 4 hours. We spend the night in the first mountain village of Tsvira, where we will be welcomed by the home in their guesthouse.
4. Day - through the mountains we go to the next picturesque mountain village Adishi. The hike will take about 5.5 hours. When we arrive at the destination, we will see that there are not even 30 houses together, and perhaps everyone with everyone is a family and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful.
5. Day - We will wade through the wild river on horses and climb the Chkunderi Pass at a height of 2722 m.n.m to continue to the village of Khald. This day will be the most demanding, we will walk on our route for about 6 hours, but it is nothing we can do. The reward will be beautiful views and a good feeling of ourselves.
6. Day - We have a choice of a easier route with a smaller elevation or a heavier route through a pass of almost 3000 m.n.m. In both cases we will walk about 6 hours. At the end of the day we will arrive at the highest inhabited village in Europe, ushguli.
7. Day - We will explore the USHGULI and have an undemanding trip on the horses to the glacier under the highest peak of Georgia Mt. Shkhara. We can visit the Ethnographic Museum, but we will relax.
8. Day - We will return to the mountain town where we started, and from there we go towards the Black Sea to a small village, which is reminiscent of the tropical jungle. We sleep in the Georgian retro apartment with proper retro furniture.
9. Day - the whole day of the batter in the sea and relaxation on a small, still little visited beach. At night we head towards the airport.
