Regardless of whether it is about migration, Corona, Putin or Gaza: the conditions for a public debate do not look good at the moment. It is becoming increasingly difficult to simply identify disagreements, let alone reach agreement.
Arguments are replaced by feelings, concepts are twisted into their opposite. Conspiracy narratives suppress the necessary criticism of dominant discourses. Instead of counter-publicity, driven mobs rage on digital media. In this way, the eulogists and beneficiaries of the existing disorder can act as the sole guardians of reason.
Thematically, this open discussion format follows directly on from the production “Those up there!” (Thetaer im Delphi, November 5-7, 2025, 7:30 p.m.) by Heiko Michels and his team. Per Leo, Luise Meier and Guillaume Paoli approach the current situation analytically and debate counter-strategies.
