About event
The Radošín Naive Theater will present its latest production in Košice.
The main theme of Stanislav Štepka's latest play is the power of marketing and the superficiality of society, which decides to give space to empty, media-produced faces, while real human values remain in the background. Through the media environment and marketing strategies, the author reflects on the current era, in which faces without content are routinely produced in order to manage society.
Two value systems are confronted here: on the one hand, the world of image, in which form is more important than content, on the other hand, the belief that the unobtrusive message of an ordinary but honest person can "shake" others more than a charismatic face without content. This conflict is clearly manifested in the tension between the agency, which claims that the face sells more than the thought, and the character of Dominik Mravec, who stirs up the media world with his authenticity and inconspicuousness.
Dominik Mravec is not an introspective character. He takes stock of his life and tries to leave a simple, unobtrusive message through the billboard - that life can be lived decently and with dignity. It is not a big or pathetic gesture, but a quiet attitude that contrasts with the noisy media reality.
The topicality of the play raises the topic in the pre-election period, whether quiet, inconspicuous decency still has a place in today's world, which emphasizes external image and superficiality. The play offers the viewer space to reflect on the value of an authentic human attitude and the importance of remaining first and foremost a decent person.
