Hovory o písmu s Marií Filippovovou

Graphicist and painter Marie Filippova is one of the most prominent characters in the Brno art scene. Her early works of the 60s are focused primarily on everyday reality and loneliness, working with the legacy of group 42. Her cycle of melancholic walks is a free art interpretation of Ivan Blatný's poem, one of the members of Group 42 and then forbidden author. Filippova also worked with her own lyrics and the integration of the font in the picture. By gradually developing her art work moved from figurative themes to abstraction. In her work, the theme of man, his trauma and position in society is abundant. This school celebrated the 100th anniversary of its foundation and in the house of the city of Brno on this occasion takes place from 22nd 10, 2025 to 8. 3. Marie Filippova as an integral part of her history was therefore invited to participate in the accompanying program. Although the handwritten script today considers an extinct field, it still perceives its great potential in the procedures of creative development. Part of the workshop will be talking about Scripture and practical experience (not only) with font teaching.
