Hovory@Pistori: Eva Umlauf

For the September edition of the discussion calls@pistori, the rare guest Eva Umlauf, which is confessed by Michal Hvorecký, will come. She graduated in Bratislava in the field of pediatrics and in 1967 she went to Munich, where she worked as a doctor in a hospital. Later she had her own children's ambulance and still works as a psychotherapist.

In 2011 she spoke at a commemorative ceremony in Auschwitz, since then she has been involved as a witness of the time. In June 2025 she became chairwoman of the International Auschwitz Committee. Her memoirs went into translations into many languages. The book number on your forearm is blue as your eyes is published in the second edition in the translation of Katarína Széherová.
