About event
The Jánský Vrch Castle, towering over the town of Javorník in the northern part of Silesia, represents a prominent feature of the landscape as well as a unique document of the transformations of a noble seat from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age. Originally a Gothic castle founded in the 13th century in a strategic location, it was connected with the Wrocław bishopric from the 14th century, which fundamentally influenced its further development.
Attention will be paid not only to the architectural development, but also to the cultural significance of the residence, which in the 18th century became the center of musical life associated with the personality of the composer Karel Ditters from Dittersdorf.
