How Organised Crime Uses Prohibition to Corrupt Public Institutions
Event by: Law Enforcement Action Partnership
Location: Vienna International Centre (VIC), Wagramer Straße 5, Wien - Donaustadt
About event
Join us at the annual UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) for a side session where our panel will discuss the erosion of trust and integrity of public services, institutions, as well as high level security threats.
Ranging from corrupting influences within the police to coercion in producer and transit regions, as well as the highest level of infiltration at state level, we need an open dialogue on just how embedded corruption has become and what the solutions may be.
Hosted by Law Enforcement Action Partnership (LEAP), our panel:
Diane Goldstein - retired Lieutenant with over two decades of policing experience, and now Executive Director for LEAP.
Neil Woods - former undercover drugs operative with extensive experience in the field, now a LEAP international board member.
Núria Calzada - a psychologist (Universitat de Barcelona), journalist, LEAP Europe board member, two decades of experience in drug policy.
Bob Hoogenboom - a former professor in policing for the Dutch Policing Foundation, professor of fraud and regulation at Nyenrode University.
Building M - Conference Room 7 - Friday March 14th, 10-11am
Admission is open and welcoming of all attendees, but registered attendance would ensure a place.
